Calicoco is the result of a meeting between an Aix native, pastry-chocolate-confectioner Grégory Grimoult, and Réunion Island. The fusion between the man who began his passion for the trade in one of Aix-en-Provence’s greatest pastry and confectionery shops, Maison Béchard, and the flavors of Reunion Island, such as the traditional “bonbon coco”. This traditional delicacy is as much a reflection of La Réunion as the calisson is of Aix-en-Provence. When cali married coco in 2012, this sweetness was born, which also became the name of Grégory Grimoult’s company. In your southern latitudes, almond powder and melon for calisson have become shredded coconut and candied green papaya for calicoco.
Handcrafted by an assistant confectioner in a high-performance laboratory, calicocos, whose recipe is a secret, never cease to seduce the gourmets of Reunion Island.
Building on the success of his Reunionese confectionery, the creator of Calicoco has expanded his range of sweets made from quality raw materials that promote local production.
Calicoco offers much more than just products. As well as stylish, well-cared-for packaging, your famous treats can be personalized to create unique, memorable gifts.
This elegant 12 g confection is the perfect alchemy of a fine paste made from shredded coconut, homemade candied green papaya, local honey, orange zest, apricot jam and cane sugar. It’s coated on both sides with royal icing.

Our company, “La confiserie d’Emilie” is a family-run, artisanal business located on the east coast of Reunion Island. This company (SARL) was created on December 20, 1989, with 4 partners (the LEDENON family) and 18 employees. Our aim is to showcase our local sweet food heritage and make it accessible to as many people as possible.
We work all year round with local fruit and vegetables (around 150 tonnes / year) to make quality products, guaranteed without preservatives or additives.
Originally, the LEDENON family were farmers, growing various fruits (pineapple, papaya, letchi, banana). Faced with excess production, they launched the confectionery business in 1985, in their kitchen. In 1990, “La confiserie d’Emilie” was born with the support of the Chambre des Métiers and local authorities. Today, it processes over 10 tonnes of exotic fruit a month.
Under the registered trademark “la P’tite créole”, a range of exotic jams and fruit jellies has been launched.
In 1992, it won the DRIRE’s 3rd “Quality Initiative” prize. In 1999, 25,000 jars of “Emilie” jam were exported to Japan and Germany.
In 2000, former manager Emilie LEDENON was made a Chevalière de l’Ordre du Mérite Agricole. The company has been awarded the “Artisan Qualité” label and is committed to creating jobs and quality of life.
With strategic investments, it is responding to growing demand. New investments are planned to enter new markets.
Its recognition reflects the company’s commitment to promoting Reunion’s heritage, while guaranteeing a constant presence via distribution and local communities.
We source our fruit from local growers. We then process them by hand. Thanks to our unique and highly appreciated know-how, we’ve enjoyed considerable recognition in the local market for 30 years.
